During the early phases of construction, overused by Chinatown specialists W G Constructors, possible menu previews included “fluffy matcha pancakes,” California poke served in a glass bowl, and “Japanese pizza.”

Experience “cool interiors” and “green tea days” on the eastside next month when Chabi Japanese Cafe makes its official “grand opening” splash on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m.

Located on Flamingo Road, across from the Tuscany Suites & Casino, the lights are turned on and the “Japanese green tea café” is already sharing images of its custom-created murals.

Promising an experience more commonly found on Spring Mountain Road or Decatur Boulevard, the restaurant serves matcha-inspired creations and a yoshoku dining menu with its own spin on “Japanized Western/European dishes.”
