An already big year for the Mon Restaurant Group now includes the surprise arrival of a “super premium matcha salon,” directly facing Mon’s own Kabuto Edomae Sushi and a short walk from the company’s Monta Japanese Noodle House.

Currently hiring and announcing a July 27 debut, Chamon will serve “premium Matcha products such as freshly brewed green tea, soft serve ice cream and much more!”

The finely ground matcha will be imported from Uji, a Japanese city south of Kyoto renowned for “producing the best quality matcha in the whole wide world.”

Opening hours and a full menu are yet to be revealed.

Mon Restaurant Group relaunched its shuttered Monta Chaya tonkotsu ramen restaurant in the southeast earlier this year and new concept Tekka BarHandroll & Sake will become part of the Cosmopolitan‘s under construction Block 16 Urban Eatery & Bar later in the fall.
